SHOULD NURSES STRIKE?

The 2014  nurses strike  generated much debate over whether it was appropriate action for a nurse to take. The issue was much discussed in the media, for example: www.theguardian.com/society/2014/jun/16/nurses-leader-pay-strike-offer-lobby-mp

The possibility of further strike action was raised in 2015  http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/nurses-may-call-strike-over-plans-for-truly-seven-day-nhs-10256874.html

The RCN also discussed strike action at the 2015 congress  https://www2.rcn.org.uk/newsevents/congress/2015/agenda/debates/16-strike-action

So - what are your thoughts? Do you think it is ever acceptable for nurses to take strike action?

It is proposed that nurses should not strike as they should always put the patient's needs first
